Using ovulation kits is a very common method of predicting fertility when a couple is trying to conceive. If you have polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), however, using an ovulation kit may or may not be an option for you.
If you have fairly regular cycles, it may be worth trying to use an OPK for a few months and see if you detect your surge. Keep in mind that many women with PCOS have persistently elevated levels of LH, the hormone detected by OPK's, so these women will not be able to effectively use these kits.
