What I Did:

Clomid

I tried Clomid and it didn't work and I didn't like the side effects (vaginal dryness, weight gain, moodiness).

Injections

Then on to injections and after 2 cycles, we conceived our daughter.

Then for our 2nd child we used nothing and I got pregnant right away! I found out on my 1st daughter's 1st birthday party!

I have PCOS and have 2 beautiful daughters.

How I Did It:

My husband and I didn't use any protection for 2 years hoping to become pregnant. When I didn't, I went to an endocrinologist for testing and I was diagnosed with PCOS. I was given shots to trigger my ovulation. For the first cycle I had too many viable eggs so we had to let that cycle go (I cried my eyes out). For the second cycle, the doctor reduced the amount of the medicine. My husband and I engaged in relations. I became pregnant with our daughter, who is now my beautiful 7 year old girl. My cycle seemed to become really regulated after I delivered and we used absolutely nothing and got pregnant easily with our 2nd daughter.

Advice

  • 1. Lose a little weight while trying to conceive.
  • 2. Take supplements (chrominum, B-Complex, L-Carnitine, fish oil, cinnamon, etc.)
  • 3. Use an over the counter ovulation monitor to know exactly when I'm ovulating.
  • 4. Reduce the carbs in my diet.
  • 5. Calm down and acknowledge the fact that women with PCOS can have children!
  • 6. Take a yoga class.
