Research shows that having a plan can help make navigating a difficult situation much easier. While it certainly doesn't hurt to treat yourself every now and again, having some control can prevent that feeling of regret the next morning. And of course, finding some time to add in an extra workout can help as well. Personally, I'll happily skip the bread basket and load up on extra servings of veggies to have dessert instead.
