It doesn't seem fair. As if there isn't enough to think about with PCOS, you also have the added worry of how your skin is going to look. Acne is very common with PCOS, and yes, those pesky hormones are responsible yet again. The extra testosterone found in PCOS can increase the amount of oil your skin produces. Luckily, there are many different treatments and types of treatment that are available to help you manage. What works best for you? Give suggestions and get advice in your PCOS forums!

The whole skin situation can be super frustrating. I have literally tried everything from prescriptions to proactiv. What finally worked for me was the Murad acne kit (available at Sephora among other places). It costs about $40 for the set and it is SO worth it. after a couple weeks of using it I really saw improvement with my skin. Now that i have cleared up I normally use a simple face wash from the drugstore and use the Murad when I’m stressed and when I’m near the end of my birth control pack. :-)
