As the rush of the holiday season is upon us, having a plan to deal with temptation is key to surviving without putting on a ton of weight. While it may be unrealistic to entirely give up everything, having a small portion of one or two of your favorites isn't the worst thing in the world.
There are some foods which can fill you up and help you deal with cravings. High fiber foods in particular are great for this. Look for high fiber versions of your favorite foods, like bread or milk, and try adding lots of fruits and veggies to your diet. Finally, if you think that you're hungry, try having a big glass of water first. Then wait 15 minutes to see if your craving passes.
And, don't forget to cut yourself some slack if you slip. Being too hard on yourself does not accomplish anything. Acknowledge the mistake and remember that you can always make better decisions tomorrow!

Dealing with weight is one of the hardest things for me to handle! With the holidays, the baking, the good food…it only makes it harder.
I’ve come to realize I should not obsess. Its hard to eat right all of the time, so I made a deal with myself — if I slip, I just get back on the boat. I don’t worry about it all that much… it makes things a lot easier to deal with!
Excellent post !!!!
