Obesity Linked to Higher Risk of Miscarriage

Fertility and Sterility, the primary medical journal for professionals in the infertility field, released an analysis of sixteen studies dealing with weight and miscarriage risk. Analysis of all of those results have shown that the risk of miscarriage was 67% higher in overweight women and may be even higher in women who required fertility treatment. This has many implications for women with PCOS. Besides being more likely to be overweight, women with PCOS often require fertility treatment to get pregnant.

The best thing you can do if you are trying to get pregnant is to get your weight in the healthy range. Body Mass Index is usually a reliable way to gauge where your weight should be. While it may seem like unnecessary work, it's one step that you can take in achieving a healthy, happy pregnancy!
