Genetic Cause to PCOS?

While researchers have suspected that PCOS has a genetic link due to the tendency for many women in the same family to have PCOS, there have no definitive studies to prove it. However, a new study has shown that two genetic mutations are more common in women with PCOS. These genetic mutations have been shown to cause changes within the body that lead to higher androgen levels which are typical in PCOS.

I would be interested in knowing what those two genetic mutations are. I was diagnosed with PCOS at 29 years of age.

I’m wondering if PCOS might also have some relations to the cystic fibrosis gene. I know i’m a carrier of cystic fibrosis gene and I also have PCOS.
I also believe I have family members with PCOS but they have not been clinically diagnosed.

I’m 16 and have been diagnosed. I heard something about it being passed down the male line…I don’t know if that’s correct
